Many of you said that you resonated with my post a few weeks ago about picking out a goal outfit that is one size smaller than you are currently wearing. This time, let's look at all the other clothes in your closet and set you up for success!

In the attached picture, you get to peek into my closet. ;-0

This time I put my next goal outfit IN the closet (just another way to stage it). All of the other clothes are ones that I fit into comfortably right now. With the exception of a bin of summer clothes under my bed and sleeping and personal items in my dresser, this is the extent of my wardrobe.

But I've been there before – with clothes in my closet ranging all the way from size 6 to 14 and sometimes I'd fit somewhere in between. You know how it goes – looking at all of those small clothes you used to fit into that make you feel sad, and looking at all of those bigger clothes that you are afraid to get rid of just in case you have a bad week, month or year. What's a girl to do?

1. GIVE AWAY ALL CLOTHES THAT ARE MORE THAN A SIZE BIGGER THAN YOU ARE CURRENTLY WEARING.

Don't leave room in your closet or your mind that you will be at that size again. Leave just a few go-to items that have a little extra room when it's “that time of the month”.

2. HAVE CLOTHES HANDY THAT ARE ONE OR TWO SIZES SMALLER.

You may have just given up, or have needed more space and those smaller clothes are in the attic, or the basement, or packed far away. That sends the message to your subconscious mind that you really don't plan on wearing them any time soon! So pick that one outfit that is your goal to go up front and have the rest handy in a drawer or another part of the closet. When you drop just a few pounds, you can have the reward of wearing some “new” clothes and not have to hunt for them.

3. RIGHT NOW – ONLY WEAR CLOTHES THAT YOU LOVE AND FEEL GOOD IN.

Your quality of life in how you feel in your clothes is much more important than the quantity of them. Give away any clothes that make you feel fat, slouchy, heavy and uncomfortable. Even if you end up wearing the same rotation of outfits every week, that is fine as long as they help you feel slimmer and more confident and comfortable. When you are feeling like a thinner person, it's much easier to lean into the thoughts and actions that will give you that result.

*Go ahead- set that intention this week for Spring Cleaning.*

Your closet will look lighter and so will you!

Happy Spring!
