I was thinking about you this weekend and thinking about the real truth about what it takes to lose those stubborn pounds.

While there may be some who make losing weight look easy, for most, that ONLY happens when these four things are in place:

  1. Mindset
The honest to goodness truth is that if you want to get down to your dream weight, then you must learn how to THINK THIN to stay thin. The mindset of being thin is so different from that of someone strugging with their weight.

Stop beating yourself up after meals when you overeat.  Stop worrying about every morsel of food you're putting into your body – thinking about if it's good enough, healthy enough and nutritious enough. That's simply too much thought into an activity that is meant to be enjoyed.

  2. Decide
Decide to be thin. That's it. Just decide. My clients who lose 20, 50, 100 pounds, have all made that decision too. Being wishy-washy and dragging your feet will only cause you pain.  Worst of all, you won't get quick weight loss results and will get frustrated because you haven’t fully decided to be the thin you, that is absolutely within your reach.
  3. Commit and Re-Commit
When I was losing weight, my old emotional eating behaviors and overeating would come back with vengeance at times and I would stuff my face silly and then want to lay myself on my bed with my jeans unbuttoned wondering why in the world I had just tortured myself with food.

I got better each and every time at recommitting to my goals and dreams for my body.  I'm never going to be perfect with food and I have no intention of being perfect these days. However, wearing smaller clothes, feeling good about myself, playing with my children, and feeling sexy are all reasons I keep committing and recommitting to eating, thinking and living thin – it works!

  4. Don't Think For A Minute You're Doing It Alone

Over 50 years of research shows that losing with with support is faster, easier, more fun and more successful. Surround yourself supportive people who are in the space of deciding to change their lives and who are committing and re-commiting to their body dreams as well.

I used to think that I could do everything on my own, and there’s a lot I can do on my own, yes. However, the areas we struggle in life the most are the areas where we need accountability, encouragement, someone to guide us, and focused support to get results.

Living into your dream body takes mindset, decision, commitment and support. Create a body that makes you proud. It's possible!
