Do You Make Excuses For NOT Moving Your Body

This past weekend I got back up skiing for the first time in almost 10 years.

I would tell myself getting up to the mountains was hard, I would be cold, it wouldn't be fun, I'd feel uncomfortable, blah, blah, blah!

Do you have phrases you use as excuses for NOT moving your body?

Mine is “it's going to be a pain” or “it's too much work.”

But then I shifted my focus – I focused on being excited for my kids to experience skiing, to enjoy being with my husband and friends, for my husband and I to have some ski time, and that it would be an adventure.

I put my excuses to rest, bought new equipment, and faced all my reasons for not going – and made the commitment to ski every Saturday for the month.

The reason I'm sharing this with you is this – do you ever notice how easy it is to stay in your comfort zone? How fast you use excuses and to keep you from experiencing fun and joyful activities in life?

Or maybe you hate the idea of going to the gym, but when you make a commitment to sign up for a package of classes – you might actually enjoy moving your body and the gym.

The truth is, extending out of our comfort zone feels AMAZING!!!

My questions to you are: (1) What are you doing on a weekly basis to extend out of your comfort zone? and (2) What phrases are you using that keep you from playing, living and bouncing around in new activities?

Sometimes you have to focus your attention on a new purpose to get you excited, motived and taking action. Maybe it's your grandkids, your children, or maybe it's to feel sexy dating. Whatever your reason – create a new motivator and stretch yourself!

The truth is, the area you want to give up in and make excuses for, is the exact area that you need to push forward a little harder –


So you can prove how fricken awesome you are! So you can look in the mirror and say ‘Hey, I pushed myself and that feels amazing!' You will then find, it's a little easier to push your career to the next level, earn more income, go out on another date, plan your next beach vacation, etc.

I encourage you to stretch out of your comfort zone and see what's available for you on the other side!
