I'm a bookie. One of my dreams is to have an enormous library within my home. Decorated in rich fabrics and dark wood shelves that go from floor to ceiling with thousands of books. Maybe it's my ego, but there's something so exciting to me about books. Each book is a glimpse into someone's mind - whether it be a creative fiction mind, or a mind that offers insights and opinions.
Last week I was looking at my “new after pregnancy body” with absolutely nothing cute to wear. My maternity clothes looked frumpy on me and my old clothes looked out of style or just plain didn’t fit. You've just woken up and are about to get your day started. You step into your closet and put some clothes up to your body in preparation for wearing just the right outfit for the day.
When you look at yourself, how do you define your body?
One of my favorite fitness gurus is Scott Tousignant. A lot of people I encounter in the fitness and diet world are a bit meat-heady - with very strict guidelines as to what to eat and how to exercise. Well, if you know me at all - telling me what to eat and exactly how to exercise makes me run to the fridge and pile on 70 pounds, so that just doesn't work for me.
