To All You Mothers Out There - I Celebrate You

Really? I really had no idea how challenging it would be to wake up every few hours to feed throughout the night. All of you mothers throughout the world have been doing this for years upon years and I had no idea how fabulous you all were. You all are amazing!

I however, am not "doing this" sleep deprivation thing with much joy or grace. I am trudging through it with my hair pulled back, my sweats on, and breast milk all over my nursing tanks. A beautiful site for sure. Today I realized that without sleep, nothing really matters. It's similar to health. If you have health, you have life. If you have sleep, you have sanity. Both are critically important to living.

I haven't written in awhile, so here's the update.....

On March 9th, at 8:55 p.m., I gave birth to Addison Leah, the cutest little girl I've ever seen (I already sound like a mom, ey?). She was 6 pounds and 13 ounces and was 19.5 inches long. She has a full head of hair, which is hysterical, since I was bald. I had horrible heartburn during my pregnancy and I kept saying that if this whole heartburn and hair relationship is true, I'd have a baby full of hair - so here you go. It was no joke!!

Addison is truly the light of my life and I'm so blessed to have had the most beautiful birth, the most helpful husband, and great family and friends to welcome this little bundle of joy into our lives and community.

Even though this sleep deprivation is brutal, she is worth every sleepless night. I am doing lots of meditating and breathing while nursing her, to stay grounded and at peace. I will be recording an audio next week for ThinWithinU members who are interested in how I dealt with my body, my weight and now what I'm doing to get the baby weight off.

Wishing you a wonderful rest of your week and restful nights. :)

Marna
